Support & Help
Food Recall Checker scans food barcodes and checks them against the FDA's enforcement database to see if a product has been recalled. You can also search by product name or browse the latest recalls.
Where does the recall data come from?
All recall data comes directly from the FDA's openFDA enforcement database, a public government data source.
Why does a product show "No Recall Found"?
This means the product did not match any current recalls in the FDA database. Note that the database may not contain every recall immediately upon announcement.
How do notifications work?
When you enable notifications for a favorited item, the app periodically checks for new recalls in the background and alerts you if that product is affected.
Does the app require an account?
No. The app works entirely without an account or sign-up.
What barcode types are supported?
UPC-A, EAN-13, EAN-8, and UPC-E barcodes are supported.
